Ski hacks: how to ski cheaper and easier in Moscow and the region
Weekday mornings, pre-sale passes, child and concession rates, the free training slope: savings checked against official price lists.
Ski on weekday daytimes. At Vorobyovy Gory an adult weekday pass before 16:00 cost 990 ₽, against 2,700 ₽ for a weekend pass before 16:00 (2025/26 prices). A private lesson there on a weekday before 16:00 is another 15% cheaper. Evenings and weekends bring higher prices and longer queues.
Buy in the pre-sale. KANT already sells the 2026/27 season: a season unlimited pass is 59,990 ₽, and a 5-visit weekday package is 8,800 ₽, which is 1,760 ₽ per visit of up to 4 hours, against 3,120 ₽ per visit in the any-day package. Packages are ordered via Telegram, MAX or the call centre.
Use concessions. At KANT students get 30% off on weekdays until 17:00, children under 12 get 30% off, and pensioners over 70 ski free Tuesday to Thursday until 15:00. At Vorobyovy Gory full-time students and pensioners under 75 pay the child rate, and children under 7 with an adult and people over 75 ski free. Bring the document: no document, no discount.
Take the first lesson on the training slope. At Shukolovo a lesson with an instructor on the training slopes needs no ski pass. Sharing an instructor is cheaper: on weekdays 4,200 ₽ per hour for two instead of 2,500 ₽ each separately.
Do the rental maths. At Shukolovo skis cost 450 ₽ for the first hour and 1,500 ₽ for the day, so if you ski more than four hours take the day rate. Children under 12 rent at half price there with an original birth certificate. The deposit is 30,000 ₽ in cash or a driving licence plus vehicle registration, so bring documents.
Plan parking and travel. Parking at Shukolovo is free. At Volen it is 150 ₽ per day Monday to Thursday and 250 ₽ Friday to Sunday. To reach Sorochany without a car, take an express or suburban train from Savyolovsky station to Dmitrov or Yakhroma, then bus 42 to Kurovo. KANT is a 5-minute walk from Nagornaya metro, following the signs.
